Over time, excess skin and/or fatty tissue can develop on the upper arms. Sometimes an improvement can be achieved with targeted training. However, the upper arms are often a stubborn area and the process is frustrating for those affected. This is where an upper arm lift, which is often combined with liposuction on the upper arms, can help. The aim of the operation is to remove excess skin and, if necessary, to reduce the circumference of the upper arms by means of liposuction.

Consultation
During an initial consultation at the Clinic for Aesthetic Surgery, we determine whether liposuction alone, just an upper arm lift or a combined operation is the best option. A precise treatment plan can then be drawn up together to achieve a beautiful result that fulfils your wishes. If you decide in favour of surgery, a further consultation will follow to discuss any questions you may have and to plan the procedure.
-
Intervention
The procedure is usually performed under local anaesthetic with a twilight sedation. The length of the scar depends on the extent of the excess skin, but usually runs from the armpit to the elbow.

Aftercare
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. You can leave the clinic just a few hours after the operation. A compression bandage should be worn for 4 to 6 weeks after the operation. You will be unable to work for 1 to 3 weeks, depending on your activity. Heavy lifting should be avoided for 4 weeks.
