Spider veins (fine, superficial and visible veins) are a widespread phenomenon and are particularly common on the legs. However, fine veins can also appear on the face or other parts of the body. Their visibility can make you want to have them removed. Spider veins can be easily treated by sclerotherapy, which can be performed on an outpatient basis and without much pain.
-
Suitability
People who suffer from spider veins on the legs, face or other parts of the body.
-
Consultation
An examination is carried out during a consultation and we discuss your concerns together. The course of treatment is discussed in detail in advance, and treatment usually takes place on a separate day, or on the same day if desired.
-
Intervention
Spider veins are sclerosed using a substance that is injected into the fine blood vessels. This is done with very fine needles, making the treatment very painless. If desired, a surface anaesthetic cream can also be applied to the area of skin to be treated. Depending on the size of the area, the treatment takes 15 to 60 minutes. A second or third treatment (sometimes more) is often necessary at intervals of around 3 months, as not all spider veins usually disappear with one treatment.
-
Aftercare
No follow-up treatment is necessary. The treated areas may initially be slightly swollen and reddened, and superficial bruising is also possible. Compression therapy (compression stockings) is not necessary. A second or third treatment (sometimes more) is often necessary at intervals of approx. 3 months, as not all spider veins usually disappear with one treatment.
