Over the course of a lifetime, the face can lose volume. This can manifest itself in sunken cheeks, loss of volume in the temples or bags under the eyes. In contrast to (e.g. hyaluronic acid) fillers, treatment with autologous fat is a long-lasting and very natural solution for restoring lost volume and sunken areas of the face.

Suitability
The procedure is suitable for people who suffer from a loss of volume/soft tissue in the face. A good general condition is an advantage. Certain medications such as blood thinners must be discontinued before the procedure.

Consultation
During an initial consultation at the Clinic for Aesthetic Surgery, we discuss the various treatment options in detail. We discuss the various non-surgical and surgical treatment methods. Together, we can work out a precise treatment plan to achieve a beautiful result that fulfils your wishes. If you decide in favour of a procedure, a further consultation will follow to discuss any questions you may have and to plan the procedure.

Intervention
Lipofilling with autologous fat is performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthetic, if necessary with additional sedation.
The location where the fat is to be harvested is defined with you in advance; it is often harvested from the abdomen or legs. Once the autologous fat has been removed, it is prepared and then inserted into the areas to be filled using fine cannulas.
A few hours after the procedure, you can leave the clinic accompanied by an escort.

Aftercare
You can expect little to no pain. Sport and heavy exertion are possible again after 4 weeks. The initial swelling disappears within a few weeks. The final and permanent result is achieved after 3 to 6 months.
