A breast lift involves lifting and remodelling the breast. Excess skin is removed and the nipple and glandular tissue are repositioned and given a new, attractive shape.
-
Suitability
The procedure is suitable for patients who are not satisfied with the current shape of their breasts.
Good general health is an advantage. Certain medications such as blood thinners must be discontinued before the procedure.
-
Consultation
During an initial consultation at the Clinic for Aesthetic Surgery, we will discuss the various surgical methods and the possible incisions and where the scars will be located in detail.
If you decide in favour of surgery, a further consultation will follow to discuss any questions you may have and to plan the procedure.
-
Intervention
A breast lift can be performed under anaesthetic or local anaesthetic with twilight sleep. Drains may be inserted to remove blood and secretions, which are usually removed on the first day after the operation.
-
Aftercare
The operation is usually performed on an outpatient basis so that the patient can leave the clinic on the day of the operation.
A supportive bra is recommended for approx. 6 weeks after a breast lift.
Work in the office can normally be resumed after 1 week, with physically strenuous work you should wait 3 to 4 weeks. Sport can be resumed after 6 weeks.
