Over time, the skin becomes thinner, the subcutaneous tissue slackens and wrinkles appear. Microneedling, also known as medical needling, is an effective treatment method for stimulating the body's own regeneration process. This can restore youthful freshness and elasticity to the skin. A microneedling treatment is generally suitable for all skin types and ages. However, it should be noted that more mature and sun-damaged skin requires a more time-consuming treatment than youthful skin.

Suitability
Microneedling has a wide range of applications and is not limited to reducing wrinkles on the face, neck and décolleté. Microneedling is also suitable for reducing acne scars, refining enlarged pores and improving skin texture. Sun-damaged skin also benefits from this procedure.

Consultation
During a first consultation we will discuss your wishes, goals and expectations regarding microneedling with you. This allows us to jointly determine a customised treatment plan. You will be informed about all the advantages and possible disadvantages of treatment.

Treatment
Microneedling uses fine, short needles to stimulate the top layer of skin (epidermis). The skin reacts with self-healing mechanisms such as the release of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which strengthen the connective tissue. The downtime after microneedling is very short. The treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis and does not usually interfere with everyday life, meaning that you can resume all your usual activities immediately after the treatment. Any discomfort such as redness or swelling will subside within 1 to 2 days. As soon as the treatment effect sets in, the skin feels softer and looks much fresher. The first results can be seen after a few days, the final result can only be assessed after a few weeks to months.

Aftercare
Sensitive skin may experience redness or swelling immediately after treatment, which can be covered with camouflage or powder. Bruising rarely occurs. Sports and sauna visits should be avoided on the day of treatment. In addition, no skin-irritating serums, fruit acid creams or anti-ageing products should be used in the first few days after the treatment. Particularly in the following weeks, consistent sun protection in the form of sun protection creams with a high sun protection factor should be used.
The number of microneedling treatments is determined based on the individual skin condition and the degree of skin ageing during a personal consultation. The respective indication (wrinkles, scars, sagging skin) to be treated can also influence the number of sessions required. On average, three to six treatments are required, which are carried out four to six weeks apart. To maintain the rejuvenating and wrinkle-smoothing effect afterwards, it is advisable to repeat microneedling once or twice a year.
